Apples effectively protect against colon cancer and other cancers

People who regularly eat apples, very rare bowel cancer is much rarer than those who, for whatever reason, do not like and do not consume these fruits. To this conclusion came after scientists conducted research from Poland.

The Polish experts invited to survey 600 volunteers who have been diagnosed with cancer and 800 people, not with cancer. Studying the peculiarities of the lifestyles of the participants showed that the presence of apples in a constant diet of people correlates with better protection from cancer, particularly from bowel cancer.

“People who use fresh apples, the risk of colon cancer 50% lower than those who refused from this fruit,” stated the authors.
Apples are rich in antioxidants – substances which have the property of “incapacitate” free radicals and thus eliminate the dangerous cell mutations that cause cancer. In particular, in Apple peel has been found 12 compounds related to triterpenoid – these substances block the reproduction of cancer cells of the liver, breast and colon.
